What types of Cookware do you need for Cooking

“I adore cooking. It makes me feel so mindless in a worthwhile way.”

― Truman Capote

Cooking is an art, and art requires equipment. Cookware sets are one of the most basic and essential requirement in the kitchen, and without them, you can’t even cook a simple meal, let alone a big one. What is cookware? It is the merchandise required for frying, baking, grilling and other cooking related tasks, and today, we are going to talk specifically about the types of cookware and uses required to make a complete and well-equipped kitchen. So, let’s get right into it!

Cookware required:

The most important part of getting kitchen equipment is to only get what you need. You don’t need to waste hundreds of dollars on stuff you’ll just put away in your cupboard for a long time. The following are the ones that hang by my stove and are used countless times throughout the day, so assess your requirements and get equipment based on your observations.

A skillet:

A skillet (don’t think about the music band!), or simply a fry pan, is a flat-bottomed pan used for browning or frying various foods. It is used in frying all types of food because of its ease of handling and efficiency. A regular pan is usually 200 to 300 mm (or 8 to 12 inches) in diameter, but can also be more or less depending on the type.

Braising pans:

Braising pans, or simply called roasting pans, are wide and shallow pans used to roast meat, including beef, pork and chicken meat. They are generally rectangular in shape and are made of materials which can withstand high temperatures, as the roasting process requires a large amount of heat to directly fall on the food.

Sauté pans:

Sauté pans are pans generally used for cooking food by the method of tossing. They have straight sides, but can also be rounded. Leave this one if you aren’t a fan of having your food stick to the ceiling.

You don’t want to miss these! Stockpots are the most basic requirement in making food for a large family or occasion. They are long in diameter and have a large amount of storage space, ranging from 4 to 12 Qt. Their sides are at least as tall as their diameter, so you can guess the size! They come in a variety of sizes, with ones needed for homes to banquets.
